Is Billabong Zoo open?
Yes, we are open. If you have any cold or flu-like symptoms, a fever or have been asked to self-isolate; please do not visit our zoo until you have received clearance by a medical professional.
Can I book tickets online?
We recommend that you book your Zoo entry tickets online. However, you can still buy your tickets at our front desk.
Do you have capacity limitations?
No we don't have any capacity limitations as we are an open-air facility.
Are Zoo Talks back on after COVID?
As we ease back into normality, we are reintroducing our live zoo keeper presentations.
We also have Zoo Keeper Presentation videos available via QR codes at many of our exhibits and one on one personal animal encounters that can be pre-booked online. Our Zoo Keepers around the zoo are happy to help with impromptu questions about our wonderful wildlife throughout the day.
What are your opening times?
We are open from 9am to 5pm daily, 7 days per week (except Christmas day).
What time is last entry to the zoo?
Last entry into the zoo is 4.30pm and there is no discount for late entry.
What is included in an Annual Pass?
This great pass offers unlimited entry into the zoo over a 12 month period from the date of purchase.

How long do I need to visit the Zoo?
We recommend around 4 hours. However some guests explore the zoo in two hours and some like to spend the entire day as we have plenty of animals to see with Zoo Keepers available throughout the day for impromptu talks, Zoo Keeper presentation videos available via QR codes at most of our exhibits, playground equipment, a great café and BBQ/Picnic facilities available.
What if it starts to rain when I’m visiting the zoo?
Our zoo is open in all weather conditions; please come prepared for the weather and for walking outside. Rain ponchos are available to purchase at the front desk. Admission refunds are not given in case of bad weather once you have entered the zoo. View terms and conditions.
Do you accept EFTPOS and Credit Cards?
Yes, we accept EFTPOS, Visa and Mastercard.
Do you accept Companion Cards?
Companion Card Holders are given a complimentary ticket provided they produce a valid card at time of entry. Please refer to our terms and conditions.
Can I bring my pet to the zoo?
Only companion animals are permitted in our cafe and gift shop as we are unable to accept any pets/animals in the zoo due to quarantine and animal safety interaction reasons. For further information refer to our accessibility section of the website.
Can I buy food or drink in the café without paying Zoo entry?
Yes, The Meeting Point Cafe is open to the public and we welcome visitors between 9am and 2.30pm. Visit our webpage about our cafe.
Is smoking permitted?
No. Smoking is not permitted at Billabong Zoo. There is a designated smoking area.
Can I buy a gift voucher?
Yes, we offer gift vouchers you can purchase online. Available for zoo admission or personal animal encounters. Our gift vouchers are valid for three years from date of purchase.
Can visitors feed the animals?
We provide kangaroo food at $2.00 per bag or three bags for $5.00 and you can hand feed the kangaroos in our popular Macropod Meadow.
Can I hold a koala?
In New South Wales, it is illegal for any zoo or sanctuary to allow a visitor to hold a koala. We do allow our visitors to pat our koalas as part of our personal animal encounters (bookings essential for private encounters).
Do you offer birthday parties?
Yes we do. Please refer to our webpage for more information and bookings.
Do parents attending birthday parties with their children have to pay Zoo entry?
As part of the birthday party package, two adults are free with each party booking, otherwise all other parents and children pay entry.

Do you accept school groups?
Yes we do. Our school excursion programmes are tailored to meet the needs of teachers, the school curriculum and level of your students.
