Billabong Zoo’s school excursion programmes are tailored to meet the needs of teachers, the school curriculum and level of your students. We offer an ideal learning environment and experience as we have run these programmes over many years and continually look to update and improve them. We care for over 200 animals of 80 species throughout our 10 acre wildlife park, set in beautiful gardens with koi ponds. We also have educational and informative Zoo Keeper Presentations available.
Our programmes are set up for the following student categories:
- K to Y2
- Y3 to Y6
- Y7 to Y12
We are happy to incorporate any special requests and place emphasis on particular subjects in our guided Zoo Keeper tours.

Risk Assessment/Code of Conduct

Billabong Zoo is open 7 days a week and is set up for wet weather as well as good weather. Many of our exhibits provide wet weather protection for groups and we have large undercover areas plus a large internal school’s room that we can use in extreme weather. We advise students to bring wet weather gear and warm clothing in the colder months. Refer to ‘what to bring’.
